Look what "white solutions" have gotten us.

Residential Schools
Broken Treaties
Lack of Funding

I don't know what the solutions are, nor will I pretend to. I have never lived the hardships they have. But one thing I think I am right on is we need to stop imposing solutions. Natives were pretty successful when they ran their affairs before we showed up. Expect a lot more of this false discourse when the First Nations Property Ownership Act is rolled out (hopefully near an election).
Here, supporters of this Bill typically point to the protection orders provisions. And there are no additional resources for enforcement. And general policing resources for First Nations are being cut, not enhanced. Yet the weight of evidence from the US Department of Justice suggests that the existence of EPOs without enforcement may actually INCREASE some forms of domestic violence.
In other words, this Bill may end up accomplishing exactly the opposite its intent - it may lead to increased incidents of violence against women, rather than reductions.
Something we never heard, I suspect, during the 'debate' on this Bill.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00420449281413013118noreply@blogger.com
