Waabishko Maa'iingan ndizhnikaaz,
Al...Boozhoo,

Waabishko Maa'iingan ndizhnikaaz,
Alderville FN ndoonjibaa,
Waabizheshi ndoodem.

People can do whatever they want, including nothing, but waiting for the liars (that is what they were from the beginning, and we have no reason to think that will change) to somehow start living honorably and upholding our treaties, the only things they have that legitimize their claim to be living here with us, is just not going to happen.

They don't care about their own poor and homeless, why would they care about us? FN's have lived in an abusive relationship with the crown for too long. They control our money, how much we can have, what we're allowed to spend, they have degraded us and bruised our self esteem and self image. We feel helpless to them, we feel so completely dependent. It is time we turned our back on them, time we said enough abuse. We cannot look to our abuser for salvation.
Manny can tax all he wants, our teachings always held our individual freedoms in the highest regard, so he can do as he wills and I will respect that. It is important to remember, at least in Anishinabek culture, our chiefs, historically, never held coercive power over the people. I am not necessarily opposed to "taxation" because I was always taught to share. I do however have a problem with forced taxation. I have a problem because nobody can make me do a damn thing if I don't want to, and because our chiefs never lived off the people the way European rulers do. Every man proves his worth and provides for himself. How can we follow the leadership of a person that cannot provide for themselves? And expect that person to provide for our needs when our hard work goes to provide for their food & shelter?

That is what corrupts leadership, creates classes, It's people that live off others. People make scapegoats of welfarers, but I don't see band workers lift anymore fingers than welfarers. The band office could be run by maybe 3-4 people, yet how many people work there and FB all day?

I want real progress, I want real results. I don't want excuses & more reasons why things will always be the same. We are so creative when we want to be, there is no reason things should stay the same for another 7 generations. Bring back the council fire. Remember our teachings as we focus on the solutions and stop dwelling on the problems. There is wisdom in the old ways, in the old organization of things. Countless generations refined our societies.
There is precious wisdom that we need to bring to our new era. We must live it, that is the only way. We can talk about the teachings all we want, it is the 'doing' that makes things better.

These are strictly my "grassroots" opinions, I dont expect everyone to agree with me, but I will respect your viewpoints, because I see things with only the knowledge I have gained so far in my journey.

Our people's are vast and varied, there is no one answer. We all see things from different perspectives,

Tax Resource extraction like there's no tomorrow, honestly, at the rate of consumption, tomorrow gets bleaker everyday.
